The liver has to work harder to eliminate alcohol, leading to inflammation and fatty liver. Ultimately, the body becomes resistant to insulin, increasing the risk of diabetes even more.
Lack of exercise: Not exercising is another major factor that increases the risk of diabetes. Exercise helps burn blood sugar, improves insulin responsiveness, and reduces body fat accumulation. People who don't exercise at all are at a high risk of developing diabetes.
