     Ramkhamhaeng Hospital offers the Safe & Strong Basketball Youth Program to ensure young players are strong, safe, and developing appropriately as they pursue their dreams.

 

Safe & Strong Basketball Youth Program

     The program is supervised and analyzed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitha Pongpibool, an expert in sports medicine, exercise therapy, and exercise science (University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), and former Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science, Chulalongkorn University.

Program Components

1. Anthropometry Assessment Package

Price: 6,500 THB

This package includes an assessment of physical fitness, strength, and performance, as well as an evaluation of body shape and proportions (height, weight, muscle size, and body fat percentage) to:

 

  • Track growth and body balance.
  • Determine readiness and suitability for playing sports safely.

 

Assessment Items

  • Weight – Height Measurement: To monitor age-appropriate growth.
  • BMI and Body Composition: Measures fat and muscle ratio.
  • Wingspan Measurement: Assesses arm length advantage for basketball.
  • 7-Point Skinfolds Test: Detailed assessment of body fat percentage.
  • Arm and Core Muscle Strength Tests: Such as Push-ups and Planks.
  • Body Fat and Muscle Mass (%Body fat & Muscle mass).
  • Joints Range of Motion (ROM).

 

Basketball-Specific Fitness Assessment

  • Speed Test (¾ Court Sprint)

Measures short-distance running ability and initial quickness used in real play.

  • Agility Test (Pro Agility Run) 

Evaluates rapid change of direction and movement on the court.

  • Endurance Run

Assesses long-distance running capacity and physical stamina.

  • Vertical Jump Test

Measures explosive leg power, crucial for rebounding and scoring.

2. Strength and Endurance Enhancement Training Program (10 days)
