Guidelines for Medical Treatment of COVID-19 Patients
If you test positive for COVID-19 with an ATK (antigen test kit), you should take the following steps to get treatment and prevent the spread of the virus.
- Isolate Immediately: Separate yourself from others, especially family members, to avoid spreading the infection.
- Inform Close Contacts: Let anyone you have been in close contact with know about your positive result so they can monitor their health and get tested.
- Contact a Hospital or Healthcare Provider: Seek medical advice from a hospital, clinic, or a dedicated COVID-19 hotline. A doctor will assess your symptoms and recommend the appropriate course of treatment. This may include home isolation with medical monitoring or admission to a hospital if your symptoms are severe.
Criteria for Hospital Admission
Medical professionals may recommend hospital admission for COVID-19 patients who exhibit the following severe symptoms or risk factors:
- High Fever: A fever over 39°C that lasts for more than 24 hours.
- Rapid Breathing: A respiratory rate faster than 25 breaths per minute for adults.
- Low Oxygen Saturation: An oxygen saturation level below 94%.
- Underlying Health Conditions: Patients with pre-existing conditions, those in the "608 group" (over 60, bedridden, or with certain chronic diseases), or others who require close monitoring based on a doctor's judgment.
- For Children: Symptoms such as difficulty breathing, lethargy, or a significant decrease in food or milk intake.
