Mr. Thani Sangnil, Age 38 Years Old
Kidney Transplant Patient
A: I felt leg pain while exercising and was found to have high blood pressure during my company’s annual health checkup. I had these symptoms for about 2 years. A colleague recommended this hospital, as it is also a corporate partner of my company.
A: I came directly to see Dr. Thanin. He explained the symptoms related to the disease, how I should behave, what I needed to control, and the initial treatment guidelines. Before my levels exceeded the threshold, the doctor suggested other methods to maintain kidney function and restore what was possible. Currently, I have no major symptoms, just some slight pain at the surgical site, which is normal for most surgeries.
A: Guidelines on lifestyle, dietary restrictions, what can and cannot be done, and what foods to avoid. The doctor advised me on everything, including the 6 types of forbidden foods, even before the transplant. The nurses in the Hemodialysis department also explained things every time I visited. It felt like we were close; they kept telling me what to do and what to expect after surgery. They provided continuous guidance throughout the treatment process.
A: Most of my time was spent with the Hemodialysis department. The nurses took great care of me and were very friendly, giving advice on everything and talking to me to help me relax. Regarding the surgery, Dr. Thanin personally screened for a kidney that was truly compatible and suitable for me. He didn't just take any available kidney; he chose what was best for me, as if he were choosing something for his own use. He didn't just do it to get the job done.
A: My lifestyle, though not 100%—since there are some sports I used to play that I can't now—it has allowed my life to return to about 80-90% of normal, which I am very happy with. My parents gave me my first life, and this time, I received a new life from the donor. To me, the donor is like another parent who gave me a second chance at life.
