As a pediatrician, I often hear concerned parents ask, "Why does my child seem so unfocused in class?" or "Why can't they remember what I've taught them?" In reality, these children might not be lazy; they may be facing Learning Disabilities or LD, which are neurological disorders that affect how the brain receives and processes information.
LD typically affects three core skills: Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. Even though these children have a normal (IQ) or may be highly gifted in other areas, their struggles in learning can negatively impact their (Self-esteem) in the long run.

LD symptoms vary based on age and the type of disability:
The most important factor is "Early Detection." Pediatricians will evaluate your child through detailed history-taking, behavioral observation, and standardized medical tests. This helps distinguish LD from other issues such as vision or hearing problems, or other conditions like Absence Seizures and past head injuries.
The Children’s Health and Specialty Center at Ramkhamhaeng Hospital does not just treat the condition; we nurture the "heart" of every child. Our multidisciplinary team includes Developmental-Behavioral Pediatricians, Child Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and other essential medical professionals.
Every child possesses unique abilities—like a hidden "Magical Gift." For a child to grow and blossom like a tree, they need a supportive environment. Family is their first world and their "Whole World." As a doctor, I am ready to walk this journey alongside you and your child.
